Welcome
The signs are clear, and 2020 will be a watershed year when we realize that "business as usual" is no longer a norm. The growing risk of climate change, social vulnerabilities and disruption of the earth's entire ecosystem are threatening our future. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the fragility of our society in a time where action, not promises, are required to build a sustainable future.
"Nirantar Bharat (or Sustainable India) – what comes after COVID-19?" is the theme for these series of Swiss Re Institute events comprising two virtual sessions in 2020/early 2021 and a physical CEO roundtable event in Mumbai in the second half of 2021. Targeting multiple stakeholders including both life and non-life insurers and partners from research institutes, as C-suites, key influencers and public sectors leaders, Swiss Re's India sustainability journey series seeks to build understanding, develop strategies and inspire action across the industry by contributing to India's societal resilience.
