One year ago, China’s President Xi Jinping announced that China aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The transition from coal to renewable energy is critical to
reaching this ambitious target, but it comes with a significant number of risks and uncertainties.

How does the Chinese leadership intend to reconciliate the goal of reaching net zero with that of maintaining continued economic growth? Which notable policies and
actions have come out of China, and which priorities have been set? Is China on track to reaching its target of net zero?
