With his optically illusory patterns Jorge Pardo engages with the distortion of space through color, light and shadow. Employing blue, yellow, green, red and orange pastel tones, the artist references the traditional craftsmanship of Mexico, where he lives and works.

My work fuses the functional and the sculptural, allowing both to coexist and act as an invitation for interaction.
The intention behind the project was actually the internal, studiobased process of development and creation itself. This partially consisted of selecting colors for the tiles, selecting colors for the light works and understanding how those interacted with each other.
