Career Returnees at Swiss Re is an initiative aimed at enhancing the recruitment and onboarding experience for talent.
Longer career breaks are becoming increasingly common as individuals seek to balance personal and professional responsibilities. We recognize that talented professionals may take breaks for various reasons: whether it’s for childcare, caregiving, personal development, deal with a health or personal issue, or other reasons.
However, returning to the workforce after a career break can be challenging. Today, these individuals face many barriers once they decide to return to the workplace. For example: a lack of flexible job opportunities, biases against those without recent experience or a perceived lack of up-to-date skills. Also, traditional recruitment processes may not always accommodate the unique situations of individuals who have stepped away from their careers.
Recognizing the challenges returnees face, the initiative is designed to enable and empower returnees to thrive and succeed in their careers. We are committed to address existing challenges, ease transitions back into employment and to provide talent and employees who have taken career breaks with support measures.
Criteria for Career Returnees at Swiss Re
If you have been on a career break for at least 1 year in tech and at least 2 years for non-tech, if you are ready to make a complete career shift back into the corporate world, if you are an entrepreneur and want to (re)start your career, or if you are ready to make an upgrade to a more complex role – we have the tools to get you started.
