Iwan Stalder Head Accumulation Management in Group Risk Management Zurich Insurance

Iwan has 24 years of Accumulation Management experience in the insurance industry. He joined Zurich Insurance Group in 1998 and held various regional and global roles in the area of Catastrophe Modeling and Management within Risk Management, Reinsurance and Underwriting. Iwan has been a leader in Accumulation Management for example as regards owning a validated view of risk. In his current role as Head of Accumulation Management in Group Risk Management he has overall responsibility for the function. Supported by a team of 25 professionals this includes quantifying the natural and man-made accumulation risk (including e.g. cyber, pandemics, climate change, casualty cat) for the Zurich Group and ensuring that stakeholder’s requirements are met.
Iwan has a M.Sc. of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Civil and Rural Engineering. He completed the Dr. Horst K. Jannott Scholarship at Munich Re and the Georgia State University and studied Economics and Finance at the UK Institute of Actuaries and the Macquarie University in Sydney.
