Jane Toothill Managing Director JBA Risk Management

Jane is the Managing Director of JBA Risk Management Limited, market-leading global specialists in flood mapping and modelling.  She joined JBA in 2008 to set up its business in the reinsurance and catastrophe modelling sector, and became a founding director of the company in 2011.  During her time at JBA, the company has released the first hydraulically modelled global flood maps, the first global flood catastrophe model, and the first climate-conditioned global flood dataset.

Jane has over 25 years of experience in catastrophe model development and its use in the re/insurance sector, with a specialism in flooding.  She studied geology at Bristol and holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Lancaster University and Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.  Prior to joining JBA, Jane worked for the British Geological Survey, EQECAT, and Guy Carpenter, where she set up and headed the European Model Development Team. She has also acted as a natural catastrophe advisor to Zurich Financial Services.
