Jens Krauss received his Master in Engineering Sciences in 1991 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ), followed by a two-year research stage at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Back to ETHZ, Mr Krauss lead the biomechanical software team of ESA’s human spaceflight Mission TVD, successfully concluded with the Space Shuttle Mission STS-78. Mr Krauss joined CSEM in 1996 and is leading today the Medtech Business Unit with a 60+ scientist and engineers in its strategic Medical Device Technology, located at the University Hospital Inselspital in Bern. His expertise in the field of human vital signs monitoring and mobile patient health has led to a series of patents, successful technology transfers and start-ups (such as AVA Womenhealth, Pulseon, Aktiia, Biospectal, etc.). During his 10-year service as Board member, Mr Krauss presided the Swiss Society of Biomedical Engineering (SSBE) from 2013-2016.
