Malcolm’s early academic career in climate change research in Australia and the U.K. focussed on understanding past and likely future changes in climate extremes, establishing a solid foundation for the world of cat modelling. Malcolm moved to Switzerland in 2007 to develop windstorm models at PartnerRe and later AspenRe and Global Parametrics, which provided valuable experience in understanding the cat modelling needs of the insurance industry. This experience enables Malcolm’s role in coordinating catastrophe model development at Fathom to ensure Fathom delivers robust, validated and transparent models that provide value to Fathom’s clients.
