Naveed Sattar Professor of Metabolic Medicine University of Glasgow

Naveed Sattar is clinical active in cardiometabolic disease. He has epidemiology, mechanistic and trial expertise and was co-author of DIRECT, co-lead of STANDBy and contributed to several other randomised lifestyle trials (e.g. UPBEAT, EUROFITT). He also co-led the ABC series on Obesity in the BMJ over a decade ago. Naveed has contributed to several trials of pharmaceutical agents in diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease and contributed to 10 national and international guidelines. He has been cited  >120K times (Web of Science) and was #185 all-time cited in medicine in a recent listing in World's Best Medicine Scientists: H-Index Medicine Science Ranking 2023 | Research.com.
