Petr is responsible for the Impact Forecasting’s flood models development on global level and is looking after the teams in Prague, Bangalore, Singapore and Chicago. Petr mainly coordinates development, releases and maintenance of IF flood model suite and links R&D work with other parts of IF and Aon as well as as with clients, technical experts and/or academic partners.

Additionally, Petr provides general methodological and technical insights on flood monitoring and analysis, general hydrology, open channel hydraulics, geographical information systems and other related tasks.

Petr has worked with Aon’s Impact Forecasting team since Februrary 2010. In mid 2013 he started to manage the flood model development hub in Prague and represent it both internally and externally.

Petr was a senior research asistant at Department of Hydraulic and Hydrology of the Czech Technical University in Prague and co-led the Earthwatch Institute project Mountain Waters of Bohemia to monitor the effect of acid rain on hydrological regime.

Petr is an active member of the International Association of Catastrophe Management, International (Committee member for Catastrophe Modelling credentials), Association of Headwater Control and is a member of the Czech delegation of FAO committee for Mountain Watershed Management.

Petr earned a PhD in hydrology and open-channel hydraulics in February 2011 from the Czech Technical University, where he previously gained his Master of Science degree and where he continues to be a member of the Scientific Committee.
