Philippe Marie-Jeanne Head of Group Finance and Risk Management Internal Audit AXA

Philippe Marie-Jeanne has been responsible for the Finance and Risk Management internal audit at AXA Group since April 1, 2022. He is also a member of the board of directors and the finance committee of the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) for the AXA Research Fund. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, he has held leadership positions in various insurance companies as well as in consulting.

Before joining AXA, Philippe began his career at UAP, then worked in consulting, and later served as the technical director and deputy general manager at SMABTP (French company, leader in France of the insurance of the construction business) . At AXA, he was in charge of the technical management of non-life risks at AXA France and held similar roles at the group level before establishing the Data Innovation Lab to develop Big Data and Data Science within the AXA Group. He also held various positions within the professional insurance federation, France Assureurs, including serving as a member of commissions, president of the Construction and Statistics Commission, and president of the Motor Steering Group at Insurance Europe. Prior to his role in Internal Audit, Philippe was responsible for risk management at AXA France and vice-president of the Risk Analysis Committee at France Assureurs. Within AXA France, he led the actuarial family steering committee.

Throughout his career, Philippe has sought to bridge actuarial research, technological innovation, and operational practice. For around twenty years, he has been a member of the jury for the Scor Prize (Actuarial Prize France - Young Actuaries Prize) and has served as the chairman of the CEA (Actuarial Expertise Certificate) Jury for several years.

Philippe has also participated in numerous international events to comment on, explain, and promote data science and Big Data in the insurance industry.

He is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, holds a degree from ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Économique), and is a qualified IA actuary.
