Prof. Dr. Florian Schreiber Professor and Insurance Lead Financial Services Zug IFZ at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Florian Schreiber is Professor and Insurance Lead at the Institute of Financial Services Zug IFZ at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. In his role, Dr. Schreiber is responsible for the development and further expansion of practice-oriented research in the field of insurance. As initiator and editor of several annual studies such as the IFZ Insurance Study, the IFZ Digital Insurance Experience Study and the IFZ Pension Fund Study, Dr. Schreiber has been providing a transparent market overview of the Swiss insurance and pension fund landscape for several years.

Dr. Schreiber lectures to undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of insurance, risk management and corporate finance. As co-director of the executive program CAS Future of Insurance and as co-director of the master program Banking and Finance, he also ensures a sound education for the future leaders of the Swiss financial center.

In addition, Dr. Schreiber carries out consulting mandates, research assignments and executive training for private companies and the political sector. He thus ensures a continuous knowledge transfer of the latest academic research results to contribute to the sustainable and digital transformation in financial institutions. Dr. Schreiber is a board member of the Swiss InsurTech Hub and a jury member of the annual Swiss Insurance Innovation Award of HZ Insurance.

Dr. Schreiber studied at leading universities in Germany, Switzerland, and the USA. He publishes scientific articles in renowned finance and economics journals such as the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, or the European Journal of Operational Research. In recent years, his research has received the Journal of Insurance Issues Best Paper Award from the Center for the Study of Insurance Regulation (CSIR) and the Mark Dorfman Award (co-author) from the Western Risk and Insurance Association (WRIA). In addition to his research activities, Dr. Schreiber lectures at various (international) conferences and practice events on various insurance-related topics.
