Read the Alliance policy letter: We're in this together
The global impact on food and energy prices, notably due to the war in Ukraine, continues to hurt households, businesses, and economies worldwide. The crisis is a stark reminder of the fragile nature of the current energy and food system.
Leaders at COP27 have the chance to make this conference a historic turning point towards a cleaner, more affordable, and secure energy and food system. We therefore welcome the hosting of COP27 by Egypt and the African leadership on climate action, adaptation, resilience and a just transition.
Our desire is to work side-by-side with governments to scale up public-private efforts in the push to net-zero. At COP27 there is an opportunity to make that move from pledges to action as world leaders, government officials and representatives of the NGO community all gather to accelerate action on climate. Swiss Re is a part of this massive effort through its co-chair of the WEF Alliance CEO Climate Leaders and by pursuing its mission to help build societal resilience.
